[00:00:43] Welcome back to Resilient Life, the podcast where we explore the power of resilience and how we can positively impact your wellbeing. Today we're going to talk about resilience routines and how they play a crucial role in our mental health. Let's face it.

[00:01:03] Life can pro challenges at us left and right, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and drained, from work stress to personal struggles. It's easy to get caught up in the chaos and then neglect our mental wellbeing. This is where resilience routines comes in.

[00:01:23] When we implement these daily practices, we can better cope with stressors and maintaining positive mindset. So what exactly are resilience routines? They are daily habits and practices that help us build mental strength and adaptability.

[00:01:43] They are also habits that help us show ourselves love and forgiveness which then extends to others. Some popular routines include mindfulness exercises. I covered how resilience and mindfulness overlap in a previous episode. I will add the links so that you can watch that video.

[00:02:06] Another routine is regular physical activity and the most popular resilience routine is practicing positive affirmations. This one was made popular by the late and great Louise Hay. My question with mindfulness, which is a state of being conscious or aware.

[00:02:27] I did an episode about being on autopilot now at that link, which unfortunately to many of us are on autopilot in our daily lives. Luckily, mindfulness can teach us to stay present and grounded, which allows us to navigate our emotions and situations more thoughtfully.

[00:02:48] The other routine exercise can boost our mood and energy levels, but it's most beneficial when daily or at least several times a week. Listen, if you're anything like me, I go hard on my exercise routine for about a week or two, okay just a week.

[00:03:07] And then I slack for like a month or two or three or six don't judge me. So, well, exercise is good. Regular exercises ideal as a resilience routine. And the last resilience routine is positive affirmations, which help reframe negative thoughts and cultivate a more optimistic outlook.

[00:03:31] Stating positive affirmations may feel awkward or silly at first, but think about how many times we've said negative affirmations to ourselves like reliving that thing we said to that one person at one time or that's how we did that weird thing in front of them.

[00:03:51] It just feels weird in the beginning because we're not used to being kind to ourselves, but keep practicing. It'll feel regular. Join me in incorporating resilience routines until our daily lives. I know that increasing resilience works because they have been so many times in my life

[00:04:11] when I face challenges such as abuse, neglect and homelessness. And at that time, I felt powerless. This is before I learned to increase my resiliency. Once I did, I learned to find solace in my mindfulness practices and my daily positive affirmations.

[00:04:30] Not only did I learn about SPAC from the situation stronger than ever, but I also noticed a significant improvement in my overall mental health. It was a significant turn and point for me. It highlighted the transformative power of resilience routines.

[00:04:50] If you take one thing away from this episode, please remember that resilience is more than a buzzword. And implementing a daily resilience routine can be a powerful tool for built mental strength and achieving daily success.
