[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so glad you're here.
[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm Nikita Ross, your go-to person for human resilience.
[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm here to guide you toward living your best life.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Today we're exploring another tool in our resilience building arsenal.
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be discussing the top 10 ways to live a resilient life.
[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Life can be full of ups and downs.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by challenges, whether it's a demanding
[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: job, personal loss or even a global crisis.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_00]: How we handle adversity can define our path forward.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: But don't worry, by the end of this episode, you'll have 10 powerful strategies to live
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_00]: a resilient life.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's get started.
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's start by explaining why you would want to live a resilient life.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever felt like you couldn't catch a break or that too many of your
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: days are filled with stress, anxiety, sadness or depression?
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_00]: You found yourself worried about this or worried about that, or you were hurt
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: because of what someone said or did.
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Through these little life hiccups, I've come to understand that perfection is a
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: myth.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody has a flawless life.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody, not even that person or celebrity who you idolize.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Embracing the idea of not having a perfect life helps because it'll help us
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: process difficulties better because there will always be difficulties, not
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: constantly, but you will face them throughout your life.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: When you're resilient, you start seeing challenges, not as the world is against
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_00]: you or you have bad luck, but when you increase your resilience, you see
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_00]: complications as opportunities to grow or learn something or at the very least,
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: do things differently than you have in the past.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And here's the thing, when you accept that life can be messy and unpredictable,
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: you actually feel happier and healthier.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You become more adaptable, more compassionate towards yourself and
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: others.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And yes, a lot more relaxed because resilience isn't about avoiding
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: difficulties, it's about facing them head on and finding your way through
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: them.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, let's get to the list.
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Although all the items on this list are essential, I believe this first one is
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: extra important because life guarantees that we will face changes which we
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: sometimes interpret as challenges.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So to kick off the top ten ways to live a resilient life, the first tip
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: is to embrace change or be adaptable.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Change is going to happen.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Life is unpredictable.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Learning to adapt and being flexible can help us navigate unexpected
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: changes and it will make us more resilient.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_00]: We must be open to new ideas, unexpected experiences and not be afraid to step
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_00]: out of our comfort zones to grow and to develop.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_00]: The second way to live a resilient life is to have a positive mindset.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_00]: A positive mindset allows us to see challenges differently.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It helps us to stay optimistic and focus on finding solutions instead of
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: dwelling or being stuck on the problem, which includes telling everyone about
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: this bad thing that happened to you today or yesterday or last week.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I did an episode about having a positive mindset.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll add the link.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Tip number three for living a resilient life is to have a healthy and strong
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: support system in the form of positive relationships.
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Surround yourself with supportive people who can offer perspective and
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: encouragement.
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not about the quantity or number of relationships, but very much about the
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_00]: quality.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Having a network of people who believe in you and offer you encouragement and
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_00]: support can make all the difference in the world in difficult times.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: They can provide us with valuable advice, help us see things from a
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: different perspective.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's wonderful.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: A little note.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Everything I share in this podcast, I either struggle with myself or I
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_00]: struggle within my life.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And because I'm learning that life is not always one and done, I may
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_00]: struggle with it again in the future.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So we are on this journey together.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_00]: The fourth tip is to have an idea of your purpose and to set some
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: goals.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Setting achievable goals can give you direction and motivation even in
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: tough times.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Setting realistic goals and having clear and attainable goals gives us a
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: sense of purpose and direction, which can help us stay focused during
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_00]: tough times.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: It also allows us to celebrate our achievements and learn from our
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_00]: mistakes.
[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Remember, your purpose doesn't have to be grand.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Find that thing that makes you feel at peace and time flies by when
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_00]: you're doing it.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Our fifth tip is self-awareness.
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Understanding your emotions and triggers is foundational.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Reflecting on your experiences help you prepare for future challenges.
[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_00]: In a previous video, I spoke in detail about the importance of
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: self-awareness.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I will also add that link.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Number six is connected to the fifth one because once you have
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_00]: self-awareness, you learn emotional regulation.
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: The ability to manage your emotions puts you in complete control.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: To put it another way, you control how you choose to feel.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_00]: If someone upset you, you chose to be upset.
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Learning to manage and control your emotions can decrease stress.
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Techniques like deep breathing and mindfulness are invaluable tips
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: here.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_00]: The seventh way to go to fate resilience is investing in
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_00]: self-care.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Self-care is multifaceted, just as you are.
[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So you want to take care of all the parts of you, taking care of your
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: physical, emotional, social, mental well-being, spiritual well-being,
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_00]: environment, nutrition and job is essential in building resilience and
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_00]: in self-care.
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Regular exercise, healthy eating and mindfulness practices can help us
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_00]: stay physically and emotionally strong, which is crucial when facing
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_00]: challenges.
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's talk about gratitude.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_00]: For those keeping track at home, we are on tip number eight.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Being grateful for what we have and shifting our focus to what we can be
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: thankful for in our lives can help us stay resilient during challenging
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_00]: times.
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It allows us to see the good in every situation and find the
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_00]: strength to overcome any obstacle.
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Acknowledging and connecting with optimism in your life can shift
[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_00]: your focus from what's going wrong to what's going right, boosting your
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: overall resilience.
[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_00]: My favorite tip is to have a growth mindset.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of fear and failure, we should see it as an opportunity to
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_00]: learn.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: A growth mindset allows us to adapt a new situation and find creative
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: solutions to problems.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And finally, the tenth tip for living a resilient life is to
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: believe in yourself.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Having confidence in your abilities and trusting ourselves to overcome any
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: challenge is crucial in building resilience.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We must remind ourselves that we are strong and capable of achieving
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_00]: anything we set our minds to.
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_00]: We can also reflect on times when we have overcome challenges and
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_00]: changes in the past because you have, you're here.
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So, resilient nights, let's recap.
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Resilience is not something that comes naturally to everyone.
[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But with practice, we can all develop this vital characteristic.
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Having a positive mindset, a strong support system, practicing
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: self-care, having a growth mindset, setting realistic goals,
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_00]: practicing gratitude, embracing change and believing in ourselves are
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: key ingredients to live in a resilient life.
[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't put pressure on yourself to do all these things at once.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: That's not necessary.
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Pick one and just focus on gratitude for a little bit, a week, a day, a month.
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And then pick another one and focus on self-care for a week, a day, a month.
[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And switch them out.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't put the pressure on yourself to try to do all of these things at once.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_00]: That's also not realistic.
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you forget or you don't do it as well as you want to, give
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_00]: yourself some grace.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: That is a huge part of being resilientist, for giving yourself and giving
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: yourself some grace.
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Resilience nights, it's your turn to take action.
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I offer a friendly challenge for you today.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Start incorporating these tips into your life and see the positive
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: impact they have on your resilience.
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Embrace change as an opportunity to grow rather than a setback because
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: challenges will always come our way.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But with a resilient mindset, we can overcome anything.
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Remember, resilience is a journey, not a destination.
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Resilience nights, that's it for today's episode of the Top 10 Ways to
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Live a Resilient Life.
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope you found inspiration and actionable insight to help you navigate

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_00]: boost of resilience.
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll see you in the next episode.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope this episode gave you some tools to connect with and increase
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_00]: your resiliency.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm proud of you.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's keep up the momentum.
